Below the EU threshold

We use a wide range of sources to identify potential suppliers such as:

  • reputation
  • visits
  • existing framework agreements
  • suppliers' catalogues
  • Yellow Pages
  • representatives or sales staff
  • trade exhibitions
  • advertising
  • the internet

We may use any combination of the above to identify a list of suppliers to invite to quote or tender.

For contracts where the value exceeds the EU threshold we advertise in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU).

We may still need to advertise for procurements which are not subject to the Directives. For example, the estimated value of the contract may fall below the relevant threshold, but advertising is required to demonstrate transparency and achieve value for money. The same applies for contracts which are classified as Part B Residual Services by the Regulations. Part B services do not need to be advertised in the OJEU, however the same principles of openness and transparency apply. There is also a need to achieve value for money.

Where we decide to advertise a requirement, we will post details of the contract opportunity on:

We may also advertise in Contrax Weekly.
