Evaluating tenders
You are here: Ofwat > About Ofwat > Procurement > Our procurement processes > The tender process > Evaluating tenders
All competing tenders are assessed against the same criteria, which will have been agreed before the tenders are opened. This will normally be made available to tenderers as part of the specification.
Your bid will be successful if it is the one that offers us the best value for money. Value for money takes into account both price and quality. Bids are evaluated by assessing how suppliers propose to meet the specification, and other criteria such as price, delivery date and quality. We may interview tenderers who have submitted the best proposals.
A contract is awarded as soon as possible after the evaluation process has been completed.
If you would like to know why an offer of yours was rejected, you can ask us for feedback.
