Information Asset Register
The Information Asset Register (IAR) was announced in the Government's White Paper The Future Management of Crown Copyright. It aims to improve access to the information assets of all government departments and it will primarily concentrate on unpublished data holdings.
Her Majesty's Stationery Office is co-ordinating the IAR. HMSO has developed a website (http://www.inforoute.hmso.gov.uk) to provide a gateway and central information point for people wishing to search for government information. It will provide links to the individual IARs.
