Interview date: 7 February 2008
The Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) is the economic regulator of the water and sewerage companies in England and Wales. Ofwat works with other stakeholders to regulate the way in which water companies give consumers good quality and efficient service at a fair price.
Most of us take our water supplies for granted. We turn on the tap and clean, fresh water is there for us. But maintaining a reliable water service takes careful planning, and you can play an important part.
In this post, you will help to assess the water companies' plans. How much should each company spend to cut leakage, install meters, build reservoirs or encourage consumers to use water wisely? You will help to make sure that companies choose the most economic strategy.
The successful applicant will: - Be a numerate graduate
- Have strong spreadsheet skills
- Have an enquiring, analytical approach
