REPORTERS' AND AUDITORS' JOINT WORKSHOP 29
We held our 29th joint workshop with reporters and auditors on 25 April 2008.
Keith Mason welcomed the reporters and auditors to the workshop. He introduced the presentation topics for the day and then went on to discuss Ofwat's strategic direction.
Our Joint Workshop agenda covered the following items:
New developments in regulation
- Proposals for the Overall Performance Assessment and New Consumer Experience Measures;
June return 2008
- Sewer Flooding and Cost Benefit Analysis for JR08;
- Mains bursts reporting for JR08;
Periodic review 2009
- PR09 Methodology developments, AMP5 drivers and what Ofwat expects of companies' Draft Business Plans;
· Asset strategy topics, which included:
- An overview of our reporter training days to be held in May and June 2008;
- How we have treated the consultation responses on the Draft Business Plan information requirements;
- the Capital Incentive Scheme (CIS); and
- the difference in Ofwat's approach at PR09 from PR04
- How Asset Strategy team uses Reporters' Draft Business Plan Reports and guidance on the structure of reporters' commentaries
- Serviceability assessments and the Draft Business Plan
- The analytical framework for assessing critical asset resilience to flooding;
- Efficiencies;
- Changes in service levels and consumers' views;
- Water Resource Economics in the DBP
o long term waste water planning, and
o revenues forecasting;o the National Environment Programme (NEP),
o non-NEP elements of the quality programme;- Cost benefit analysis; and
- The programme of work for reporters and auditors until September 2008.
We did not have a separate auditor session this time.
