WSL 01/08 12 March 2008 Dear Colleague Consultation on compliance codes guidance On 15 August 2007 we issued revised appointment condition R. We added into condition R a requirement on water undertakers to comply with any compliance guidance we may issue and for that guidance to set out what we expect water undertakers to include in their compliance codes. The attached consultation paper is our draft compliance codes guidance. We invite your views on this. In particular, we would like to know if our guidance is practical or whether it raises specific issues for your company. We would also welcome comments on how these issues might be addressed. We have also identified specific questions in each section of the paper. We welcome your views on these. We invite your comments by the end of Friday 6 June 2008. Please respond in writing to Hayley Purcell at Ofwat. Electronic copies of your response may be sent to hayley.purcell@ofwat.gsi.gov.uk. Unless otherwise requested, all responses will be placed in the Ofwat library and made available to the public. All responses to our consultation will be reviewed and final guidance will be issued in summer 2008.
