Water resale
Rules came into force on 1 April 2001 to protect people who buy their water or sewerage services from another person or company instead of directly from a water or sewerage company. This is known as water resale.
The rules about water resale charges apply to you if you pay your landlord, site owner, or other person or company for household water and sewerage services rather than the company direct. If you buy water in this way you are known as a 'purchaser' and the person you buy from is a 'reseller'.
