Having problems paying your bill? Payment options

When we approve companies' charges schemes each year, we make sure that all companies offer a reasonable range of payment options, which must include the option to pay in accessible locations, at frequent intervals for no additional charge.

All companies offer a variety of payment frequencies to make sure that customers can find a payment method which suits them. The exact range will vary between companies, although typical examples will include paying the bill in instalments such as monthly, fortnightly or weekly, and in full at the beginning of the charging year.

Payment methods typically include paying by direct debit, cash, cheque, credit/debit card, payment card or on-line. Companies are also required to offer a range of locations for bill payment. Examples include banks, post offices, and paypoint/payzone outlets.

Many companies will consider special arrangements at the request of the individual customer. They will discuss a realistic payment plan with you to make sure that any instalment plan agreed is achievable and can be maintained.

Contact your water company for further details on the payment options they can offer you.
