Access Prices

Common carriage allows other suppliers to share use of companies' networks. Access prices are what suppliers have to pay for common carriage. Ofwat asked companies to publish their prices as part of its guidance to companies on their access codes (MD 177, March 2002).

The links below take you to each company's access price. These were published by the companies earlier this month, and copies are held in Ofwat's library. If you have any questions about the prices, you should contact the company directly.

The prices vary between the companies, because of differences in their approach to calculating prices and because of real differences in their costs. Therefore, the numbers need to be interpreted carefully, particularly for inter-company comparisons. This is the first time that access prices have been exposed across all companies to external scrutiny.
