ACTIVE ANNUAL MONITORING OF COMPANY PERFORMANCE

As set out in The Ofwat Forward programme 1999-2000 to 2001-02 (March 1999) our aim is to bring forward publication of the Report on levels of service and Report on financial performance and expenditure to July by bringing forward the submission date for the July Return to June.

Earlier publication of these reports will provide more timely information into the public domain and is also contemporaneous with announcements made to the City on the full year's results. Publication in the autumn is halfway through the next financial year and, hence, of less relevance.

I am writing to confirm that Ofwat expects to receive your company's June Return for the financial year 1999-2000 by 12:00 noon on Monday 5 June 2000.

The June Return Reporting Requirements Manual will be issued to holders no later than 31 January 2000.
