International comparisons - customers' bills This section compares average household bills and business charges for water and sewerage services. This is a simple comparison of bills and does not reflect the different service levels or subsidies that might apply. Since privatisation there has been a high level of investment of £70 billion in the England and Wales water and sewerage sectors. Comparing bills in England and Wales with those in other countries provides a valuable high-level appraisal. Other European Union (EU) member states provide the best comparison as they must comply with the same legislation. Each year, we publish a range of information about water and sewerage charges in England and Wales.  |
