International comparisons - Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is moving to a system of economic regulation based on that in England and Wales and Scotland. Since April 2007, the
Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation
has regulated
Northern Ireland Water
, which is the government-owned water and sewerage provider. The
Northern Ireland Environment Agency
is the quality regulator.
