PN 05a/15 Reappointment of Jonson Cox as Ofwat Chair

The Board of the Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) is pleased to confirm that Jonson Cox, the Chair of Ofwat, has been reappointed by the Secretary of State for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs the Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP, to serve a further term until October 2020.

The Board is pleased that this will mean Jonson Cox will remain as Ofwat’s Chair through AMP 6 (the 2015 – 2020 investment period) and the forthcoming price review period (PR19) and provide continuity of leadership to Ofwat and its role in the water sector generally.

Jonson Cox said:

“I am delighted to be reappointed as Chair of Ofwat. The sector we regulate provides a vital public service, and I have had a passionate interest in the industry for many years. It is essential that water companies are held to account to deliver the very best for their customers and retain the confidence of society. I look forward to building on the work done over the last three years.”
