IB 06/10: Ofwat welcomes legal undertaking from South West Water

In a decision paper published today, Ofwat welcomed the constructive approach taken by South West Water in dealing with errors in its reporting of written complaints and appointment data. This was caused by weaknesses in the company's systems and processes.

Ofwat secured a legally binding agreement from South West Water which has compensated customers directly affected and has volunteered further redress to customers more widely in recognition of its failings. The company is also enhancing its systems and processes.
