Quality programme
As part of the 2009 price review, each company worked with the Environment Agency, the Drinking Water Inspectorate and other interested stakeholders to develop a programme of environmental and water quality improvements that it would deliver between 2010 and 2015. Some parts are needed to comply with statutory legislation whilst others are specific local priorities. Each company submitted these proposed programmes in their final business plan in April 2009.
We worked together with the other regulators throughout the process and carefully reviewed the proposals. Proposals that we did not consider to be required by legislation or those that we believed offered particularly poor value for money were excluded from the programmes. The rest of the proposals were accepted.
The programme items we expect the companies to deliver, and their delivery dates, are set out in the spreadsheets below. In the main these items are site-specific, although we will expect companies to be able to demonstrate overall compliance with their environmental and quality-related obligations.
We will monitor delivery of these programmes through the companies' annual June returns, Reporter’s commentaries and MD109 submissions; although we plan to review the regulatory information we collect during 2010-15.
You can find information on outputs and performance between 2005 and 2010 in our historic quality programme data section.
