Protecting the environment means joining forces with other regulators, governments, water companies and civil society to deliver our ambition for the environment.
It also means investing for the future, and in doing so in a targeted, effective and efficient way.
Through our regulation, we have backed more than £1bn every year for water companies to dedicate to improving our environment through national environment programmes.
But we need to keep pushing forward and in July 2021 we gave the green light for companies to invest an additional £2.7 billion into new and innovative schemes to help the country’s green economic recovery.
