About Consultation

This document gives notice to interested parties, pursuant to paragraph 11 of Schedule 6A to the Competition Act 1998 (CA98), that, in accordance with section 31A (4) of the CA98, the Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) proposes to release the binding commitments (the Commitments) made by Thames Water Utilities Limited (Thames Water) and accepted by us under the CA98.

As required by paragraph 11 of Schedule 6A to the CA98, we invite representations from interested parties on our proposal to release the Commitments before we make our final decision.

In addition, this document also gives notice to interested parties that we propose to release the binding undertakings (the Undertakings) made by Thames Water and accepted by us under section 19 to the Water Industry Act 1991 (WIA91).

There is no obligation in the WIA91 for us to invite representations on the release of the Undertakings but we have chosen to do so in this case.

We invite interested parties to make representations on our proposal to release the Commitments and Undertakings. We will consider any representations made before making our final decision.
