How can we help you?
Ofwat is the economic regulator of the water sector in England and Wales only.
The economic regulator for water in Scotland is the Water Industry Commissioner for Scotland.
The economic regulator for water in Northern Ireland is the Utility Regulator.
Ofwat does not deal with individual consumer complaints or enquiries about water companies or individual water bills. There are a small number of complaints we do deal with. Read more on Complaints and disputes we can help with or Dispute Resolution Routes.
The Consumer Council for Water is the statutory consumer body for the water sector in England and Wales.
If you are concerned about your water bill or have a complaint about your water company, first discuss it with your water company. If you remain unhappy, please contact the Consumer Council for Water, which will be able to offer further assistance and advice.
Or call 0300 034 2222 (for customers in England) / 0300 034 3333 (for customers in Wales)
Make an enquiry or complaint via the Consumer Council for Water.
If you remain dissatisfied following CCWater’s efforts to resolve your complaint, you may refer your complaint to the Water Redress Scheme (WATRS).
WATRS provides an independent, impartial adjudication service. Its purpose is to adjudicate disputes that have not been resolved through the company’s customer service teams or by referring the matter to CCWater.
You can find out more and make an application, free of charge, via the WATRS’ website at www.watrs.org.
If you wish to refer a dispute to us for determination you should submit your complaint via our online form or send a hard copy to:
