Ofwat has varied the appointment of SSE Water to enable it to supply water and sewerage services to a site in Market Harborough called Farndon Road. The reasons for our decision are set out in ourdecision document.
New appointments and variations include one company replacing another as the statutory supplier for a specific geographic area. In this case, SSE Water will replace Severn Trent Water as the statutory water supplier for Farndon Road and Anglian Water as the statutory sewerage supplier for Farndon Road.
SSE Water will supply water and sewerage services to a development of 629 household properties. SSE Water will serve customers on the site by taking a bulk supply of water from Severn Trent Water and securing a bulk discharge connection to Anglian Water’s sewerage network.
SSE Water will offer customers at Farndon Road a 3% discount on the volumetric water and sewerage charges of Severn Trent Water and Anglian Water.
SSE Water was granted its appointment as a water and sewerage company in October 2007 for a housing development called Old Sarum, near Salisbury in Wessex Water’s area. It has since been granted a further eleven variations to its appointment at a variety of sites in different companies’ areas throughout England and Wales.
