On 20 June 2013, Ofwat began a consultation on a proposal to vary SSE Water’s appointment to become the water and sewerage services provider for a development in Bristol Water’s water supply area and in Wessex Water’s sewerage services area, called Emersons Green in South Gloucestershire (“the site”). When fully built, the site will consist of 2,012 household properties. The consultation ended on 18 July 2013. During the consultation period, we received representations from two organisations, which we considered in making our decision. On 30 September 2013, we granted SSE Water a variation to its existing appointment to enable it to supply water and sewerage services to the site. This notice gives our reasons for making this variation.
