The companies’ strategic direction statements were first developed as part of the 2009 price review process to provide a 25 year context for the companies’ five-year business plans.
The strategic direction statements include:
- companies’ plans for delivering clean and safe drinking water in the long term
- the impact these have on, among other things, the management and stewardship of assets, and innovation
- their approaches to climate change and sustainability
- consumers’ priorities
- objectives of their long-term charging strategies, how they plan to achieve these and the implications for bills
- the major risks and how companies will manage these
- how each company expects to finance its strategy.
