Draft Determination of Anglian Water’s interim determination application
At the 2019 price review (PR19), Anglian Water requested funding for the Elsham Transfer and Treatment scheme, which we accepted and determined was suitable to be delivered through Direct Procurement for Customers (DPC). This approach requires water companies to put out to competitive tender large infrastructure projects where delivery by a third party is likely to offer better value for money for customers.
Following our PR19 final determination in December 2019, Anglian Water said that it considered delivery by DPC would not allow it to meet its statutory environmental obligations by March 2025. It asked that it be permitted to deliver the transfer pipe and conditioning plant components of the project in-house instead, leading it to apply for an interim determination in June 2021.
On 30 June 2021, we published a consultation on our draft determination on Anglian Water’s interim determination application in AMP7, in relation to its DOC project and consequential proposed change to one of Anglian Water’s PR19 performance commitments. The deadline for submissions is close of business, 7 July 2021.
