A hub of innovation

Our water and wastewater services face many challenges, such as climate change and population growth.

Our water and wastewater services face many challenges, such as climate change and population growth. Finding solutions to these challenges will require innovation. But also increasingly, collaboration – collaboration between organisations and with customers – both to innovate and make the solutions work.

The Water Hub is a collaboration between Durham University, Northumbrian Water, the Environment Agency and Durham County Council. It creates opportunities for businesses to work with communities, end users, government organisations and research institutes to develop the solutions to key water and environmental challenges in these areas.

Dr Sarah Cotterill was until recently the Innovation Knowledge Manager at the Water Hub.

Watch: Sarah on the challenges facing the sector.
