Severn Trent Water – To 2025 and beyond

Severn Trent Water were one of only three companies to have their business plan for 2020-25 fast tracked by Ofwat in its 2019 price review. They have set a new standard for the sector.

Among the highlights, by 2025, the company will:

  • cut bills by 5% before inflation
  • reduce leakage by 15%
  • invest £107 million to improve the water supply grid
  • resolve 95% of complaints about low water pressure first time
  • improve 2,259 kilometres of rivers
  • improve 1,090 hectares of land
  • invest £419 million to improve the environment

Liv Garfield is Severn Trent Water’s Chief Executive. We asked Karma Loveday, Editor of The Water Report to interview Liv to find out how the company achieved fast track status. Karma also asked Liv for her views on the shared sector vision and Ofwat’s emerging strategy.
